Conditions: |
Duke’s maintenance diet is Hills prescription Z/D kibble,
which is similar in cost to a high quality commercial grade dog food diet. He goes thru a 25lb bag every 3 weeks, eating 2 cups in the am &
2 in the pm. Additionally Duke takes an over the counter
generic brand antihistamine to help with any itching.

Duke does not have any hunting experience that we know of, however Duke has a medium energy level, loves going for walks on leash, also loves retrieving a ball & will place it at your feet 50% of the time to be thrown again.Sir Duke Slide Show

Duke is 100% Chessie, loyal, loving, protective, stubborn & intelligent. Duke needs a strong, compassionate, firm, but fair Chessie Savvy person. An Adult home only, with out a lot of house traffic & no children. Not sure about cats (he does fine w/my house rabbit) & does best with easy going dogs. Duke is looking for a home/family who will be dedicated to helping him the rest of the
way to a "Great Dog" status, which he IS sooo capable of!!! On-going training and exercise will be of great benefit.

Duke will “Kennel Up” when told. He sleeps thru the night but if he has to go out, Duke will wake you up too let you know. Duke knows "Back" to back up out of the way, "Off" (to get off couch or bed) "No", "Paw", "Hug" (he puts his front paws on your shoulders)"Get your bone", "Get into your bed" & of course "Ride" Duke is super eager to please & is treat oriented, he just loves being with his humans. |
