Waylon will be seeing the Vet in the near future. He has a runny nose and a little discharge from his eyes (cold? allergy?) and, after exercise, he has a tendency to favor a front leg (strained muscle?). Update: Waylon saw the Vet and received antibiotics and was ordered on crate rest for his shoulder. All better now. |

Waylon was pulled from a shelter in South Dakota and transported to his foster home in northern Illinois. We received only rave reports regarding his temperament from his transporters. We will update his listing as we get to know him a little better.
UPDATE 02/22/10: Waylon is doing much better. He saw the Vet for his runny nose and the pulled muscle in his shoulder. He was given antibiotics and put on crate rest. Waylon was fine with the antibiotics, but not so much the crate rest. He was bored and started to act out a little by exhibiting some destructive behavior. Now that his shoulder is better, he has been able to go running with the personal trainer that comes over and takes the foster dogs jogging with her during her training. Waylon is a much better boy now that he's getting an appropriate amount of exercise for a growing Chesapeake. :-) He's starting to learn his basic manners, including not to jump on people and how to walk/run on lead. |
