Honey spent a few months in a temporary kennel as we worked on getting her into a foster home. It also happened to be a field training facility who is very familiar with CBR's. They were quick to say with some training she'd make a great hunting companion. Her dew claws have been removed and based on her great retrieving skills, she was in the process of becoming someones hunting partner. |

Honey has been in her new foster home for a month and is learning commands very quickly. She is comfortable with 'sit' and is currently learning 'stay', 'come' and the bathroom command. She is an absolute gem on a leash and would be a great walking or running companion. She also retrieves like a champ. |
| Other Info: |
Honey came to CBRR&R when she landed on the front porch of a friendly family in Dallas, TX. With no identification tags and looking a little worse for the wear, they took Honey in while trying to find her family. However, no one was to be found. Fortunately, they saw a special spirit in Honey and called in the forces of CBRR&R! This is where we met. Honey is an incredibly sweet, young female. Though timid at first, she truly loves to be around people - she's never met a stranger - and prefers to snuggle with you and be underfoot most of the time. Living indoors seems to be new to her and she is quickly learning how to be a house Chessie: potty training, how to relax and lay down rather than pace the house, new startling noises from the TV or hairdryer. These are just minor speed bumps though. She is a terrific retriever, great on a leash and is crate trained. She gets along with our own male Chessie and does well at the park meeting new dogs of all sizes and breeds (though this tends to make her apprehensive). Cats are a complete bore and babies/kids are just more friends to cuddle with. Honey will make a great addition to a family and looks forward to being placed in her forever home!
As Honey is a somewhat nervous and apprehensive dog at this stage in her life, long-distance adoptions that require transportation coordination or flying is not the best option. Thank you for your understanding.
