Shawnee's owners divorced several months ago, and she was placed in boarding at that time. A few months later, the husband became ill. When it was determined he would not recover and time was short, he signed Shawnee over to rescue. |

Shawnee possesses all the tools she needs to be a hunting dog. She is not upset by loud noises (pots, pans, and cabinet doors banging in the kitchen). She LOVES to retrieve and will deliver the ball/toy to hand. While she has the tools and drive necessary to hunt, she needs someone to teach her how to put it all together. |

Shawnee Rose is a very well mannered girl in the house and when she's in the kennel outside. She's quiet, relaxed, and enjoyable to be around. She loves to be with her people. Update: Shawnee does not do well with smaller breed dogs at all and has demonstrated only a limited degree of tolerance with larger breed dogs in the general area around her, as long as they do not violate her "personal space" or attempt to share her bones/toys/food. |

Shawnee needs to refresh her memory on basic commands. She sits, responds to her name, and kennels very well. Also, she assumes a natural heel position when walking around the yard. |

Shawnee Rose is a very sweet loving girl. She is very affectionate with people, doesn't bark (that we've seen yet anyway), is calm and relaxed in the house, and is content to take a nap near you in the evenings. This is a wonderful girl who is looking for a home to call her own. Pictures will be posted soon. Current pictures is one received before Shawnee Rose came into rescue. Check back for updates!!! |
