Tricks: Catches frisbee; has been trained in the pass to retrieve a beer from the fridge. Here is a video!
Other Info: Lucy is an eleven-year old, AKC registered Chesapeake Bay Retriever. She is a tremendous source of joy, an indefatigable friend. She is still remarkably active: she loves to swim, take walks, explore the woods, and she is always eager to retrieve--whether on land or in water. At the same time, she is a great home companion: like all chessies, she prefers to lounge wherever you are—in your office, your kitchen, or in the garden. She is obedient, knows multiple commands, and is especially responsive to strong leadership. She has lived with children and with other dogs, and she has even been known to nap with a cat. Lucy is also a natural guard dog who, though never aggressive, is always keen to alert others to the presence of strangers. Lucy responds well to strong leadership and is intensely loyal and very sweet. She will be a wonderful pet to any owner who needs an affectionate companion. She loves to sit in the same room as the family, play frisbee and tug-of-war, and she loves to be stroked. In her youth she could catch a frisbee jumping several feet into the air, but she has slowed down some.
